Trail Section

Notes

Fort Point was the first defensive site on San Francisco Bay, built in 1853-1861. Teh golden Gate Bridge was designed to fit over the fort, which can be toured as a historical monument. (closed in 2007 for repairs)

Historic Fort Point sits below the south end of the Golden Gate Bridge.
